CPI (M) against Pension Bill

NEW DELHI, MARCH 22. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has communicated to the Government its opposition to the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority Bill.

The Left parties staged a walkout in the Lok Sabha on Monday when the Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, introduced the Bill.

The CPI (M) Polit Bureau member, Prakash Karat, said today that the party was opposed to the basic concept of the pension fund and there was no question of supporting the Bill. The party would vote against the Bill.
