TIRUPATI, MARCH 22. The Forest Flying Squad, Piler, has seized a lorry-load of 180 red sander logs weighing 4,793 kg on Bodevandlapalle-Kotakadapalle road on Tuesday. The squad, led by DFO, D. V. Subba Reddy and range officer, R. D. Venkatesh, came across the lorry (ATW 5679) of Kanakadurga Lorry Service by 2.30 a.m. According to the DFO, four persons jumped from the vehicle and fled on sighting the Government jeep. The value of the seized booty is put at Rs.4.79 lakhs, while the lorry is valued at Rs.2.50 lakhs.
