HYDERABAD, MARCH 22. The State Government has conceded a few demands of former Andhra Pradesh Former Legislators Forum including providing medicare facilities on par with the serving legislators and effecting a hike in the pension. The members of the forum led by its general secretary, K. Subba Raju, met the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and the Speaker, K.R. Suresh Reddy, on Tuesday in the Assembly. Later addressing a meeting, Dr. Reddy said the demand for free bus travel would have to be discussed with the RTC officials. He was favourable to the demand that the former MLAs be considered for a category 3 treatment at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan at New Delhi and provide facilities accordingly. He promised that house sites could be allotted to them on the acquisition and development cost basis. The forum thanked the Chief Minister for conceding the demand for hiking the pension but urged him to consider other demand too.
