Hajira remanded to judicial custody

KOZHIKODE, MARCH 22. Meladi Kizhakke Kathirattil Hajira who had been involved with a drug and sex mafia was remanded to judicial custody till April 4 by the Munsiff/Magistrate, Payyoli, on Monday.

The Munsiff, P. Anil Kumar, had visited Hajira at the psychiatry ward of Kozhikode Medical College Hospital before passing the orders.

The Payyoli Circle Inspector, Abdul Kareem, said future action would be taken based on how she responded to treatment.

She had disappeared along with her two children Altaf and Alfaz under mysterious circumstances on November 17 last from Payyoli. On January 18, the body of four-year-old Altaf, the elder child, was found at the Bangalore City railway station. The 29-year-old woman was taken into custody by the Bangalore police on March 1.
