Four killed in accidents

CHITRADURGA, MARCH 22. Four people were killed and four injured in two accidents in Chitradurga district on Monday night.

Two persons died on the spot and two were injured when a lorry collided with a tractor on Monday in the Imangala police station limits.

The police identified the dead as Ramesh and Poojarappa of Bharamapura village in Hiriyur taluk. The injured are being treated at the Hiriyur Government Hospital. The tractor was parked between a pump house and a temple on National Highway 4.

In another incident, a motorcyclist died on the spot and two were injured when two motorcycles collided in Chikkajajur police station limits on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Manjunath (24) of Holalkere. According to an official release, the accident occurred near Adanur village.

A lorry cleaner was killed on the spot when he fell down from the moving lorry on Tuesday morning in Holalkere police station limits. The deceased is identified as Elukoti (22) of Maraghatta village.
