THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 22: The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, today indicated his resolve to enforce discipline in the party by issuing show-cause notices to 13 Congress MLAs for attending the Kochi rally organised by the senior party leader K. Karunakaran and his son and former KPCC president, K. Muraleedharan. The show-cause notices have been issued under rule 25 of the CLP rules. Mr. Chandy, in his capacity as Congress Legislature Party leader, has asked the MLAs why action should not be taken against them for violating the AICC and KPCC's directives against participation in the rally organised by Mr. Muraleedharan, who has been suspended from the party. The notices were delivered to the MLAs through special messengers except in the case of the Congress Chief Whip, P. P. George, who received it from the Congress Whip, V. D. Satheesan.
The notices were served on former Minister P. Sankaran, T. V. Chandramohan, E. M. Augusthi, V. Sugathan, Savithri Lakshman, Shobana George, Maliath Saraladevi, A. D. Musthafa, M. A. Chandrasekharan, Radha Raghavan and N. D. Appachan.
