KOCHI, MARCH 22. The Ernakulam Principal Sessions Judge, James Murickan, today awarded life imprisonment to the three accused in the case relating to the murder of Gopalakrishnan of Kundanoor. The accused are Vinayan (32), Deepu (20) and Shaheer (20) of Maradu. According to the prosecution, Gopakrishnan had questioned the accused when they teased some schools girls. The prosecution contended that the accused had earlier threatened Gopalakrishnan. The accused assaulted Gopalakrishnan and his brother when they returned home after lodging a complaint with the Panangad police station. The assault took place in October 29, 2001. Gopalakrishnan's brother was seriously injured in the attack.
