Left parties accused of deceiving people

PATHANAMTHITTA, MARCH 22. The Bharatiya Karshaka Morcha State unit president, P.J. Thomas, has alleged that the Left parties, especially the Communist Party of India (Marxist), have been deceiving people by following a dual policy of supporting `anti-people policies' of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government in Parliament and protesting against them outside.

Mr. Thomas was inaugurating a siege laid to the Telephone Bhavan here by the Bharatiya Janata Party workers today, protesting against the `anti-people' policies of the Union Government as well as the alleged sidelining of Kerala in development by the Centre.

The Bharatiya Janata Party district unit president, A.G. Unnikrishnan, spoke.
