NIZAMABAD, MARCH 22. The Survey and Settlement Commissioner, Vinod Kumar Agarwal, has said the district has been selected for introduction of the Integrated Land Information System (ILIS) on experimental basis to put all details on land online. Giving details of the proposed system here on Tuesday, he said the traditional system of keeping records followed hitherto was found to be not useful to the people. For fast retrieval of data and provision of information to people the latest system would be immensely useful, he added. He said the people had displeasure over the land related information with the Government and the proposed system would satisfy them. Collection of total data relating to the land and its computerisation would not be a difficult task, he said. After a month a face-to-face meeting would be held on the subject with field level officers concerned, voluntary organisations and people. With the computerisation of land data in New Zealand and Australia land disputes could be effectively dealt with, he said. The ILIS would be useful to solve land disputes and settlements in the State. To implement the system the Government had to spend at least Rs.20 crores per year, he said. All departments related to land acquisitions and settlements would be involved in the implementation of the system. It will be launched very soon in the district.
Data on land records
The Principal Secretary, Registration and Stamps, J. Satyanarayana, said the Government decided to introduce the system with an intention to regularising the data pertaining to lands and land records. The district Collector, D.V. Raidu, said that with the ILIS transparency could be maintained and official accountability would increase.
