THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 22. A 48-year-old man, who was found to have consumed the pesticide Furidan, died at Medical College Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. He was identified as Muraleedharan, a resident of Edayanparambuvila, Kottukunnam, Venjaramoodu.
Electrocuted
An 18-year-old boy was electrocuted when he was handling a pressing iron at his house in Poojappura this morning. The police identified the deceased as Manoj alias Manu, son of Indusekhar. The incident occurred at around 9 a.m.
Spirit seized
The Excise Department late on Tuesday night raided the Pappanamcode Industrial Estate and seized more than 5,500 litres of illicit spirit that was found stocked in an abandoned workshop. The raid was led by the Assistant Commissioner, Excise, E. Shihabudeen. The Excise Department also seized a Maruti car in connection with the raid.
