NEDUMBASSERY, MARCH. 22. The Youth Congress State president, K. P. Anil Kumar, has said that disciplinary action will be taken against those youth activists who had taken part in the zonal rallies of the `I' faction. Talking to reporters at the Nedumbassery airport, he said that the extent and severity of the disciplinary action would be decided in the coming days. The district presidents had been asked to submit reports, he said. Mr. Anil Kumar said that many programmes planned by the Youth Congress, including a three-day State camp, had to be shelved owing to the present crisis in the party. He said that it was imperative to maintain discipline in the party. Dismissing the claim of the `I' faction that about one lakh people participated in each of its rallies, he said that the attendance was not more than 15,000. He said that rallies of the nature carried out by a faction, at a time when elections to local bodies were fast approaching would only encourage division in the party.
