Clear morning sky, cloudy evening

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 22.MARCH 22.MA The sun will continue to play hide and seek with the city on Wednesday, with the sky being mainly clear in the morning but likely to become partly cloudy towards the afternoon or evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 32 and 19 degree Celsius.

On Tuesday, Safdarjung recorded a maximum of 29.8 and a minimum of 18.5, while Palam recorded 31.4 and 17.7 degree Celsius respectively. The rainfall recorded at Safdarjung and Palam was 20.6 and 3.1 mm.

While the maximum humidity recorded at Safdarjung and Palam was 88 and 94 per cent, the minimum was 32 and 24 per cent respectively.

Held for posing as advocate

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 22.MARCH 22.MA A 35-year-old man, who posing as an advocate allegedly filed civil suits against innocent people to extort money from them, was arrested at the Tis Hazari courts on Monday.

According to the police, Ghanshyam Dass Sharma had filed a civil suit in the Tis Hazari courts against Bhupender Singh, a resident of Burari, accusing him of carrying out unauthorised construction. On Monday, Mr. Singh went to attend the hearing after which Ghanshyam allegedly contacted him outside the court offering to withdraw the suit against a payment of Rs. 1 lakh.

Mr. Singh contacted his lawyer in this regard who talked to Ghanshyam and on suspicion that he was not an advocate, took him to the Bar office for verification. The Bar staff found out that Ghanshyam was not an advocate and was handed over to the police.

Bootleggers arrested

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 22.MARCH 22.MA Six people, including two women, have been arrested in different parts of the Capital on charges of bootlegging. According to the police, illicit liquor consignments were recovered from them.

The accused have been identified as Firoze, who was arrested at Timarpur in North Delhi; Pinki and Meera at Gokulpuri in North-East Delhi; and Ram Singh Bulaki, Panchanand Singh and Zuber at Delhi-Haryana border.

More animals for Zoo

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 22.MARCH 22.MA Delhi Zoo today acquired a male rhinoceros and a pair of stump tail macaque and porcupine in exchange for a male rhino and a tigress from Patna Zoo.

The Delhi Zoo also has big plans to make a visit to the park a pleasant and relaxing experience. "The zoo is planning to construct an underground parking facility and bring in battery operated vehicles. These are plans in the pipeline but we are hopeful that things would come through in the best interest of the public,'' said the zoo director, B.S. Bonal.
