BANGALORE, MARCH 22. The ticket sales for the third and final Test match between India and Pakistan, scheduled to start on Thursday, picked up steam as heavy crowds turned out at all the counters on Tuesday for the first day's tickets and season tickets.

Daily tickets are priced between Rs. 50 and Rs. 1,000 and fans do have a choice. But many people were reluctant to pick up season tickets as they had their own doubts about the match running its full course following India's emphatic win in Kolkata.

Karnataka State Cricket Association hopes that there will be a good turnout on all five days of the match. Security around the stadium was tightened on Tuesday with players arriving for net practice.

The city police have posted an additional posse of men at the stadium. The Rapid Action Force of the police is being deployed.

Parking lots

The Bangalore city police have demarcated "no parking" zones on a few roads around Chinnaswamy Stadium and provided alternative parking facilities for people coming to watch the match.

Arrangements for parking vehicles with and without passes have been made. Vehicles with green passes can be parked inside the stadium, and they will be allowed through Gate 1 on Queen's Road.

Those with yellow pass can be parked on BRV Ground and they will be allowed through Link Road. Vehicles with blue passes and white passes can be parked in St. Mark's Cathedral compound.

Parking arrangements for four-wheelers for which passes have not been issued have been made on Kamaraj Road, Main Guard Cross Road, part of Infantry Road and Plain Street. Two-wheelers can be parked on Cunningham Road, Union Street, Central Street, Lady Curzon Road, and from King's Road junction to Bal Bhavan.

Ban on parking

The ban on parking is on the following roads from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

Queens Road - between CTO Circle and Queen's Statue Circle (both sides) and between CTO Circle and Thimmaiah Road junction; Kings Road - between Bal Bhavan and High Court junction; Lavelle Road - between Queen's Statue Circle and Madras Bank Road junction; Madras Bank Road - between Madras Bank Junction (Airlines Junction) and Ashirvadam Circle; and Cubbon Road - between CTO Circle and K.R. Road junction.

`No entry'

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed from Balekundry Circle on Queen's Road; from Cubbon Road-Dickenson Road junction on Cubbon Road; from Windsor Manor Sheraton on Raj Bhavan Road; from Cash Pharmacy Circle on St. Mark's Road; from Trinity Circle on M.G. Road; and from Hudson Circle on Kasturba Road.
