CHENNAI, MARCH 23. Karnataka was 287 for six at stumps on the opening day of the three-day final against defending champion Tamil Nadu in the P.S. Ram Mohan Rao Trophy under-25 cricket tournament at the ICL-GNC ground on Wednesday. Opting to bat, Karnataka was given a 176-run start in 45 overs by Bharath Chipli (88, 145b, 13x4, 1x6) and S.N. Ameeth (66, 146b, 10x4). Later, N. Niduvan (33) and Stuart Binny (33) added 59 for the fourth. For the host, off-spinner V.R.S. Guru Kedarnath took two for 53.
