Turmeric market holidays
ERODE: The Erode turmeric market run by the private persons, would be closed for ten days from March 25 to April 3, due to the Erode Periya Mariamman and Chinna Mariamman festival and also Punguni Uttram. Because of the announcement, the Erode Regulated market, Gobi Cooperative Marketing Society, also declared holiday for turmeric sale. The prices of turmeric are stable for the past one-week at Rs. 1,860-2,289 a quintal for the finger variety and Rs. 1,810-2,339 a quintal for root variety. Every day, a minimum of 3,000 bags of turmeric were sold in the private, regulated and Gobi Cooperative marketing society markets.
