BANGALORE, MARCH 23. Four students of the Bangalore Military School in the Ashoknagar police station limits were reported missing since Tuesday. The police suspect that they might have gone to their native places. According to the police, the four students, Lakshman Singh (16) from Uttaranchal, Gaurav Sharma (15) from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, Vivek Kumar (14) from Bihar and Saketh Kumar (16), a native of Gaya in Bihar, were all from 9th standard. They were reportedly not permitted by the school principal to go to their native place as the vacation period after the annual examination was short. The students were allowed a vacation of only 10 days, the police said. It is learnt that all the four were academically very good. Vivek Kumar was even a rank-holder. The police said similar incidents of students defying school rules to go to their native homes had been reported in the past. The police said the students might have gone to meet their parents and relatives. However, till Wednesday night, they had not reached their homes. "We are in touch with their parents. They might have gone by train or bus. We have launched a search," a senior police officer told The Hindu .
