VISAKHAPATNAM, MARCH 23. The East Coast Railway has made elaborate arrangements for transport of mangoes from its Waltair Division. The officials held two rounds of meetings with mango traders and growers' associations in the city and at Vizianagaram during last few days. Later, the Minister for Major Industries, Botsa Satyanarayana, was briefed on the arrangements. The latest Railway Rules were also explained to the traders and growers in the presence of senior revenue officials. Depending on the demand, rakes have been allotted for lifting the cargo at Vizianagaram to Naya Azadpur (Delhi), according to a communication from the Waltair Division on Wednesday. It said that steps had been taken for effective usage of rakes. The detention and movement of rakes would be monitored at the highest level.
