Jammu and Kashmir Home Minister's brother killed

SRINAGAR, MARCH 24. Militants today shot dead Mohammad Akram Bhat, elder brother of the Minister of State for Home, Abdur Rehman Veeri, in South Kashmir. Police sources said that unidentified militants shot the 50-year-old Bhat, a contractor, at Zirpora near Bijbehara at 5.55 p.m. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

A civilian, Noor Mohammad Latoo, was injured in the shootout.
