BANGALORE, MARCH 24. The Government is considering handing over to the Central Bureau of Investigation, the allegations against 15 house building societies in Bangalore that failed to allot sites to the depositors. Even when they allotted sites, they ignored the seniority of the depositors and did not get the permission of the Bangalore Development Authority and defaulted in refunding the deposits. The Cooperation Minister, R.V. Deshpande, told the Legislative Council on Wednesday that action ranging from filing criminal cases against the directors, superseding some of them, attachment of the properties of directors of the societies towards the dues to be paid to the depositors and directing them to allot sites, would be considered. He was replying to Mukhyamantri Chandru (BJP). The house building societies in question, the Minister said, are: Amarajyoti House Building Cooperative Society, Bapuji, Legislators' society, Vijayanagar, Jawahar, Vyalikaval, Venkateswara, Karnataka Urban, Remco (BHEL), Kuvempu New Model, Aircraft Employees, Vishwabharati, Scheduled Castes, ITI Employees, and the Karnataka State Judicial Department Employees' House Building Cooperative Society.
