Kambara upset with appointments

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, MARCH 24. Chandrashekara Kambara, litterateur and MLC, on Wednesday expressed disappointment that the Government announced the appointment of chairpersons to various academies without involving artistes and writers for whom they were meant.

During the discussion on the Budget in the Legislative Council, Dr. Kambara said: "With its sudden announcement, the Government has let the bureaucracy decide and appoint the chairpersons, and I wonder if this is a ploy to curtail the freedom of the academies." Dr. Kambara said he was pained to see the Government's keenness on exclusion rather than inclusion of intellectuals and creative people.
