Endowment lectures

MADIKERI, MARCH 24. The Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Somwarpet and Madikeri units, will organise endowment lectures at Kushalnagar and Madikeri on March 29 and 30 respectively.

The Kushalnagar programme is being organised in memory of writer the late Kodagina Gowramma. Prof. Kalegowda Nagavara of Kuvempu Adhyayana Samste, Mysore, will inaugurate the function. Sabiha Bhoomigowda from the Kannada Department, Manasagangotri, Mysore, will deliver the endowment lecture.

The programme will start at 3 p.m.

The Kannada Development Authority and the Kannada and Culture Department will organise a cultural programme after 4.30 p.m at the Kannika International Auditorium.

The best woman writer from Kodagu will be felicitated on the occasion.

The president of the Madikeri taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat, K.T. Baby Mathew, and the president of the Kodava Elthkarada Koota, U.P. Poovaiah, said in a press release here on Thursday that the late Monnanda K. Chengappa memorial endowment lecture will be organised here on March 30.

A Kannada-Kodava poets' meet will be held on the occasion.

The K.T. Subba Rao memorial endowment lecture was organised by the district unit of the Parishat here recently. It was attended by noted Kannada novelist, S.L. Bhyrappa.
