Zaka shines in Pakistan's win

KARACHI, MARCH 24. Skipper Zaka Ahmed scored an unbeaten century to spearhead Pakistan to a comfortable nine-wicket victory over India in the first one-day of the five-match deaf and dumb cricket series in Lahore on Thursday.

Zaka scored a 93-ball 114 aided with 10 boundaries and three sixes as Pakistan, which restricted India to 193 for nine, achieved the victory target in 29 overs.

The Pakistani captain was declared man of the match.

This was the first match between the deaf and dumb teams of the two countries since 1982. The second match will be played at Faisalabad on March 26.

India: 193-9 in 45 overs (Inderjeet Yadav 59, Rohit Saini 31, Varinder Singh 26, Zaka Ahmed 3-24)

Pakistan: 196-1 in 29 overs (Zaka Ahmed 114 not out, Iqbal Butt 32, Bilal Aslam 34 not out).— PTI
