KURNOOL, MARCH 24. The district president of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), N. Somasundaram, has urged the Government to arrest the constable who allegedly seduced a woman who came to the police station for help at Dhone. Mr. Somasundaram and others who went on fact-finding mission to Dhone presented a memorandum to the Collector, Vikas Raj, on Thursday demanding action against the constable, Prakash. Mr. Somasundaram said the married woman approached the police for help to protect her from harassment by her husband. The Sub-inspector of Police summoned the in-laws of the woman and discussed the problem with them after making her to stay at the police station for three days. At the insistence of the victim, a case was registered against the in-laws. However, the constable who noticed her predicament offered help and invited her to his house and allegedly seduced her.
Shifted
The matter was brought to the notice of higher-ups. The constable was shifted to Holagunda immediately but no action was taken against him. The MRPS urged he SP to take initiative and book a case against the constable after placing him under suspension.
