Ajanta group to launch CFL lamps

AHMEDABAD: The Morvi (Gujarat)-based Ajanta group, manufacturer of wall clocks, telephones, calculators and other home appliances under ORPAT brand name, will be launching energy-efficient compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) for industrial and commercial users after its success in the domestic CFL market. The director of the Ajanta group, Jaysukh Patel, said the company would be launching power saver CFLs in three different wattage, 45, 65 and 85 watts. Mr. Patel said the company hoped to reduce the prices of CFLs once its Samakhiyari (Kutch) plant for manufacturing CFL tubes was commissioned in the next three months. At present, it was importing the tubes from China, Taiwan and Korea.
