Additional D.A. for Central staff

NEW DELHI,
MARCH 24.
The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Jaipal Reddy, today said after a Cabinet meeting that it had been decided to increase the rate of dearness allowance to the Central Government employees to 17 per cent from the present 14 per cent with effect from January 1. The decision, that will cover pensioners too, will cost the exchequer Rs. 1,608.24 crores a full year.
