By Our Staff Reporter
KOCHI,
MARCH 24.
The Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithy (KVVES) has called for a three-day strike from March 30 in protest against the move to implement Value Added Tax (VAT) from April 1.
A statement from the KVVES said that the protest was approved at a meeting of the Administrative Committee of the Samithy here on Thursday. The press statement was signed by A.K. Venugopal, former District General Secretary of the KVVES.
The Samithy said that its members will stop taking fresh supplies and will lay siege to the State Secretariat on April 1 as part of the protest. As many as 15,000 members are expected to participate in the protest from Ernakulam district, according to a statement by the KVVES.
