NEW DELHI, MARCH 24. The Delhi High Court today issued notices to Delhi's Police Commissioner, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Tilak Nagar, and the Station House Officer of the Uttam Nagar police station in West Delhi accusing the police officers of illegally helping four individuals in grabbing four properties at Chanakya Place on Pankha Road. Issuing the notices, Mr Justice R.C. Jain directed the respondents to file their replies by July 5. The petitioner, Daya Datt Vashishtha, through his counsel K.C. Mittal, alleged that the ACP, Omvir Singh Vishnoi, and the SHO had been brazenly helping the individuals with the intent to grab properties No. 74 to 77 in clear violation of a decree in favour of the petitioner by a civil court here. Mr. Mittal submitted that instead of seeing the implementation of the decree in favour of the petitioner, the two officials "actively connived with the private persons and gave them open support knowing fully well that the case had been decided in favour of the petitioner.'' The two constables posted at the properties to maintain law and order not only restrained the petitioner from carrying out renovations work but also removed building material from the spot and beat the labourers working there. He further alleged that the police officials helped the private persons to occupy the properties peacefully.
