Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, MARCH 24. The sky will remain partly cloudy on Friday with the maximum temperature around 34.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 27 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27.2 degrees Celsius. At Meenambakkam, the corresponding temperatures were 35.2 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels were 82 per cent and 78 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended in parts of Thirumudivakkam, New Washermenpet, Choolai, Pudupet, Sowcarpet East, Flower Bazaar, Mannadi, Tondiarpet, Dasarathapuram, K.K. Nagar, Madhavaram, Kodambakkam and Gummidipoondi areas on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work.

Medical camp

A medical camp was conducted by the Voluntary Health Services Diabetes Department on Sunday at the Narada Gana Sabha. R. Krishnaswami, senior advocate, inaugurated the camp. Over 200 persons attended the camp. Medicines and vitamins were given. A comprehensive diet analysis and counselling were also done by the dieticians.

Seminar

The AEC and Speak2Achieve are holding a free one-day seminar on IELTS followed by mock tests between 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Guest speakers from IDP IELTS Australia will guide and counsel students during the event on March 26. Appreciation course

The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra at Mylapore, will conduct a 3-month appreciation course on Modern Astrology (Indian and Western). The classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (6 p.m. -7 p.m.). The course is open to all aged above 18.

The medium of instruction will be in English/Tamil and the course fee is Rs. 500. The course begins on April 5 and the last date for enrolment is April 1.
