Three held for attack on lorry driver

MARCH 24. POLICE
arrested three persons, who allegedly attacked a lorry driver and took Rs. 750 from him near Poonamallee early on Thursday.
Subramanian (21), Sundar (22) and Kuppan (18), who were on a two-wheeler, allegedly attacked Rajendran, a driver, who was asleep in a lorry parked on Poonamallee High Road near Poonamallee around midnight. After attacking him the gang took away Rs. 750 from him.
The victim informed the police control room, and a senior officer on night patrol rushed to the spot.
On seeing the police, the gang fled. They were chased and caught in Nasarathpet and the money recovered, police said.
