Indicators: RTO fiat to goods vehicles

By Our Staff Correspondent

MANGALORE, MARCH 24. The Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Mangalore, has directed owners and drivers of all goods transport vehicles, especially liquefied petroleum gas tankers, plying along National Highways 17 and 48 and other roads to keep the indicators on the vehicles in proper working order and use them as prescribed while driving.

Strict action will be initiated against those found not complying with directions, Giridhar, RTO, said in a press release here on Thursday.

He said that the department has received complaints that most of the indicators on such vehicles are non-functional and drivers do not use them in a manner desired of them, especially while overtaking, thus causing problems to other road users. This is leading to an increase in accidents, the release said and directed all concerned to ensure that the indicators are functional and used.
