BANGALORE, MARCH 24. Five persons, including a five-year-old girl, were killed in three accidents in and around Bangalore on Thursday. The police said Amula (5) was killed on the spot after a garbage lorry ran over her at the junction of Netaji Road and M.M. Road in the Fraser Town Police Station limits. The accident occurred around 8 a.m. when Amula was on her way to a shop. She was the daughter of Raja and Chennamma, construction workers and residents of Ambedkarnagar, off Netaji Road. The Fraser Town Traffic Police seized the lorry and arrested the driver. In another accident, two unidentified men were killed at Kogilu in the Chikkajala Police Station limits on the outskirts of the city. The police said the two men approached Sunil Karle, who is constructing a guesthouse at Agrahara Layout in Kogilu, seeking jobs on Wednesday. When Sunil Karle told them he had no jobs to offer them, they slept in front of the building and covered themselves with empty cement bags, the police said. Around 1 a.m. a sand-laden lorry ran over the two, killing them on the spot, the police said. The Chikkajala Police have registered a case and seized the lorry. Two youths were killed when a vehicle hit their motorcycle on MES Road, off the military camp, in the Yeshwanthpur Police Station limits around 12.30 a.m. While the rider, S. Raghu (25) of Mathikere, was killed on the spot, the pillion rider, S. Balamurugan (28) of Jalahalli, died at M.S. Ramaiah Hospital, the police said. The Yeshwanthpur Traffic Police have registered a case.
