BANGALORE, MARCH 24. The Department of New Born Services at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health will organise a workshop on "Neonatal Ventilation" on March 26 and March 27. According to the National Neonatal Peri-natal Data for 2002-2003, the incidence of Respiratory Distress Syndrome was 1,674 (1.2 per cent) of the 1,45,632 babies treated in 18 States in the various neonatal intensive care units in the country. The workshop will deal with effective management of Respiratory Distress Syndrome and ventilation training. Nearly 200 paediatricians, including post-graduates, are expected to participate in the workshop. For details contact Ph: 26343143/26342421.
