No takers for Great Eastern Hotel ERS
KOLKATA,
MARCH 25.
With only a day to go for the closure of Early Retirement Scheme (ERS) offered by the West Bengal Government, none of the 440-odd employees of the 150 years old Great Eastern Hotel opted for the same amidst reports that the authorities may extend the deadline.
"None of us has accepted the ERS offered by the State Government and we stick to our stand to boycott it,'' a spokesman of the employees' union said today dismissing reports that some section of the employees were willing to accept the offer defying unions.
He said the employees would be holding a demonstration at the gate of the state-run hotel tomorrow when the deadline set by the State Government for accepting the ERS ends. — PTI
