HYDERABAD, MARCH 26. The Andhra Pradesh Housing Board (APHB) has chosen the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and the Vidya Niketan Educational Trust, for setting up a health care unit and a school comprising nursery, primary and secondary sections at the Singapore class township in Pocharam. Both institutions would have to complete the construction of the facilities within 18 months from the date of signing of the agreement, a spokesman of the Housing Board said. Keeping in view the urgent need for commencing the facility, the organisations have agreed to start a health centre and the nursery school immediately using the space available in the stilts of the buildings. The health centre will have at least one general practitioner, an orthopaedic, gynaecologist, dentist, cardiac specialist and a lady doctor. First aid facility, outpatient department, lab for basic tests, ambulance services, emergency services, besides linkage with the parent hospital will be among the facilities. For the school, 60 per cent of the seats will be reserved for the township residents, 10 per cent for the LIG residents and fee will not be more than those being charged by some of the premier schools in the city like the Little Flower School, Gitanjali, St. Ann's, HPS, etc.
Other amenities
In the next couple of days tenders called for setting up a shopping complex and temporary provision stores, dry cleaning shop and the likes would be finalised, the spokesman added.
