VIJAYAWADA, MARCH 27. The city witnessed a number of inaugurations relating to various schemes of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) on Sunday. The hectic activity came at a time when the term of civic bodies across the State was set to expire on Monday. The day kept the public representatives busy in inaugurating different works -- from additional classrooms to kalyanamandapams. The dignitaries, who took part in these programmes, included the Minister for Municipal Administration, Koneru Ranga Rao, the Vijayawada MP, Lagadapati Rajagopal, and the respective corporators. The Mayor, Panchumarti Anuradha, was not present at any of the programmes in tune with her recent stand in distancing herself from official programmes.
