VISAKHAPATNAM, MARCH 27. Several former leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Government Officers' Association have deplored the demolition of the walls of the King George Hospital and the District Collectorate for widening the road. In a statement, the association's former district presidents, S. Prabhakara Rao, J. Satya Rao and the former district secretary, D.D. Prasada Rao, said the two buildings had heritage value as they were century-old. They said the two buildings were considered as landmarks in the city and asked the district Collector, Praveen Prakash, and the Municipal Commissioner, N. Srikant, to stop further demolition of the walls.
