TIRUMALA, MARCH 28. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, enquired about the new darshan pattern introduced at the temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala, which is aimed at clearing the pilgrim rush during festivals and other times of unusual rush. According to highly placed sources, the Chief Minister enquired about the new system with the TTD Chairman, T. Subbirami Reddy, when the latter called on him today. Mr. Subbirami Reddy, who defended the TTD's action, explained to the Chief Minister, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, the rationale behind the introduction of the new pattern. He further apprised him that the new system was introduced only on an experimental basis with an intention to enable maximum number of devotees to have darshan of the Lord.
