Sarath Babu wins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 28. Sarath Babu defeated Raj Krishnan 8-3 in the opening round in the boys' under-14 section of the TCTDS open tennis tournament at the TTC courts here on Monday.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by P.J. Thomas, IAS.

The results (first round): Boys: Under-14: Sarath Babu bt Raj Krishnan 8-3, Rupothaman Ram bt Vignesh V. Gopal 8-6, S. Sagin bt Unnikrishnan 8-6, Manoj Lalgiri bt Vaibhav 8-4. Under-12: H.Suraj bt S.S. Nikhil 8-0, Mathew T. Lathra bt Pranoy 8-0, Aqeel Faheem bt Vaibhav Suresh 8-6; Vishnu Padmakumar bt Shreyas 8-6, Solomon G. Thomas bt Vipin Anto 8-0, Mohammed Hamraz bt Jayakrishnan 8-6, Sachin Vinoth bt Gokul Byju 8-5, Anand George bt Gokul M. Nair 8-0.

Children (under-10): Mathew T. Lathra bt Kevin Abraham 7-3, Aqeel Faheem bt Jithin George 7-1, Sneha Susan bt A. Adil 7-0, Kamil Faheen bt Madhav 7-2, Arjuna Ajayakumar bt Evan Joseph 7-4.
