Time for second phase of land distribution: Left

HYDERABAD,
MARCH 28.
A delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) has urged the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, to consider suggestions by the two Left parties to the Government to take up the second phase of land distribution.
The CPI(M) and the CPI State secretaries, B. V. Raghavulu and
S. Sudhakar Reddy, called on Dr. Reddy at the Assembly here on Monday and submitted a memorandum. They said that the first phase of the land distribution programme launched in January appeared to be eyewash as far as the beneficiaries are concerned. They said unless the Government identified lakhs of acres of land belonging to the revenue, forest and endowments department, justice would not be done.
