TDP stalls proceedings
HYDERABAD,
MARCH 28.
TDP members stalled the Assembly proceedings for 25 minutes on Monday after the Speaker, K. R. Suresh Reddy, announced postponement of a question tabled by the Congress member, K. Murali Mohan, on the change in the excise policy.
The TDP member, N. Janardhan Reddy, took exception to the postponement during question hour and charged the Government with shying away from discussing the new excise policy. The TDP members were on their feet demanding that the Chair direct the Minister to answer the query.
The Finance Minister, K. Rosaiah, explained that the question could be raised again before the budget session concluded.
The agitated TDP members resumed their seats when the Speaker said the Minister would make a statement during the day.
