KOCHI, MARCH 28. The Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation has postponed its decision to close down theatres from today after a section of the distributors agreed to release films as per the existing terms and conditions. The Exhibitors Federation had earlier decided to close down releasing centres against the new terms mooted by the Film Distributors Association (Kerala). The federation general secretary, T. T. Babie, said here today that ten leading production and distribution houses in the State had given a written assurance to the exhibitors that films would be released as per the existing norms. The companies that have signed the agreement include Aroma Movies, Lal Creations, Dhamar Films, Galaxy films, Shogun films, Cinema company, Kalpaka films, S. S. Films, Grand Productions and Central Pictures. Mr. Babie said that more distributors and producers had now come forward in support of the terms recommended by the exhibitors. It is learnt that the distributors and producers who had supported the exhibitors would soon launch a new distributors' forum. The Film Distributors Association (Kerala) had decided to change the holdover, publicity contribution, distributors' share and batta.
