CHENNAI, MARCH 28. The Trauma Care Consortium has acquired two more ambulances for emergency assistance on National Highway 45. David Friedman, managing director and president of Ford India and R. Santhanam, managing director of Hindustan Motors, handed over the ambulances at a function today. Mr. Santhanam said the ambulances were built with a factory-fitted steel body. Suniti Solomon, chairperson of the Trauma Care Consortium, said the ambulances would patrol the highway and could be reached on the helpline 12703 or 28150700. The ambulances, fitted with first aid kit, heavy-duty stretchers, oxygen cylinders and other standard equipment, will operate out of the TCC office in Adyar.
