Kidnap charge: CBI probe sought

By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE, MARCH 29. Mahila Jagruthi, a women's organisation, has denied the involvement of its members in the alleged abduction of Aruna, a 14-year-old girl, to force her to join the naxalite movement. The president of the organisation, Hema, has demanded a CBI probe into the matter.

Ms. Hema said the police have arrested two members of the organisation — Indira and Anita — on the false charge of abducting the girl.

The organisation has demanded the immediate release of its activists.
