By Vladimir Radyuhin

MOSCOW, MARCH 29. The self-exiled Kyrgyz President, Askar Akayev, ousted in last week's `tulip' revolt, said he would not step down but is willing to open talks with the new Parliament on ways of resolving the political crisis in the Central Asian country.

In an interview in Russia where he has taken shelter, Mr. Akayev said he was the "only popularly elected and legitimate President and my term expires on October 20, 2005." At the same time he expressed readiness to begin talks with the newly elected Parliament.
