PONDICHERRY, MARCH 29. The Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, on Monday handed over the first instalment of Rs. 15,000 to each of the 290 poor families in Oussudu Assembly segment under the Pondicherry Slum Clearance Board scheme. The scheme, Perunthalaivar Centenary Kamarajar Housing programme, is aimed at covering 7,000 families with each of them earmarked Rs. 40,000 as subsidy for house construction.
