GO issued on PR teachers' salaries

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, MARCH 29. The Panchayat Raj teachers need not open bank accounts for securing their salaries. It would be sufficient if the MEOs and headmasters open bank accounts and draw the salaries for disbursal, according to orders issued by the Government.

This was stated in a press release by the Andhra Pradesh State Teachers' Union on Tuesday. A. Anantaramulu, president, and P. Subba Reddy, general secretary, thanked the Government for the GO. They demanded the spot valuation rates for SSC to be raised

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Federation said the Government has released Rs.60 lakhs as additional grants for payment of salaries to teachers of the municipal and aided primary schools. In another development, the Andhra Pradesh Progressive Recognised Teachers' Union said the Government also issued orders directing officials in districts to relieve those teachers who have been selected by the APPSC for Group II posts. The GO was issued on Monday, according to B. Mohan Reddy, president, and P. Sudhakar Reddy, general secretary.
