TIRUMALA, MARCH 29. In a public appeal, today, the TTD management requested flower growers and philanthropists all across the country to liberally donate flowers (loose or tied) to the Hill temple of Lord Venkateswara, Tirumala, in connection with the Ugadi festival - Telugu new year day, which falls on April 9. The flowers used for the occasion include rose, chamanthi, scented geranium, ganneru, nandhi vardhanam, lotus, moravam, dhavana, lillies, jaji, malli, molalu, kuriveru, vettiveru, aster, marigold, mogili, vrikshi and thulasi. Cut flowers like roses, chrysanthemum, gerbera, carnationa, aster, limonias, anthuriums, liliums, gladalious, tube rose, orchids, golden rod, bird of paradise, heliconias and asparagus. The donors also can send coconut flowers and bunches (vokka) mango, banana bunches and other fruits, to utilise them in the decoration of the Hill temple complex. The TTD categorically stated that, all the donations should reach its garden department by April 8 morning. The donors also can avail the free transportation facilities in all the Tirupati and Tirumala bound APSRTC buses from all the corners of the State and from the neighbouring states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
