The cash, belonging to People's Cooperative Bank of Hingoli (Maharashtra), Adilabad branch, was reportedly brought to SBH for depositing by its peon Suresh. According to Suresh, he brought cash in the denomination of Rs. 500 and Rs.100 in a bag to the bank at 1.30 p.m. The bag was stolen by an unidentified person as he kept it on the floor while standing in queue at the counter to deposit the amount. Jeevan Reddy, who swung into action, found discrepancies in the versions of Suresh, the manager, Joshi, and the officer, Venkatramana Shastri, of People's bank. The three were detained for interrogation.
