CHENNAI, MARCH 29. The Kanchi Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, has moved a sessions court here for relaxation of bail conditions it imposed while granting him anticipatory bail in the Tirukottiyur Madhavan assault case. The Principal Sessions Judge, P. Murugesan, granted conditional anticipatory bail on February 24, and directed him to appear before the Judicial Magistrate-I at Kancheepuram every Tuesday. The order was modified later and he was asked to appear every Saturday. In his present petition, the Acharya said he had been complying with the court order and prayed for dispensing with his further appearance in court. The matter is coming up for hearing tomorrow.
