NELLORE, MARCH 29. With the threat of a possible tsunami receding, district officials have heaved a sigh of relief. Last night there was hectic activity following the warning. Fishermen had been advised not to venture into the sea. Senior revenue officials including the RDO, Nellore, Venkatarami Reddy, and others rushed to shore areas of Mypadu and other places. According to the MRO, Indukurpet, Srinivasulu Reddy, some 3,000 persons had been shifted to safer places as a precaution and 17 RTC buses and a tractor were kept ready. All the evacuees had been provided with food and had since been sent back to their respective places. In all, some 4,300 persons had been shifted to various places in Vakadu, Alluru, Kavali and other mandals.
